(2020) – Episode 2 [Review]

It’s just the second episode, and “Love is in the Air.” Although I have been hearing many complaints related to Nut Supanut and Petch Chanapoom’s apparent “wooden expressions.” We need to consider the fact that both of them are newbies. Despite that, they try to portray a poignant relationship based on mutual understanding where they manage to convey their emotions with simple and silent conversations. They don’t need to talk much because their eyes vividly describe the character’s emotions. So that pretty much sums up Solo and Gui’s budding feelings for each other.

This review is a joint effort with Jenhg. See her thoughts on this episode at her blog. Jen’s perspective is different from mine, and I really enjoy reading the contrast in our thought processes. I’m hoping that our readers will feel the same.

(2020) – Episode 1 [Review]

What happens when a boy who has forgotten how to smile meets a kindred soul with a warm smile? They would eventually walk the same paths, grow closer, and literally become each other’s “Oxygen.”

I will be very frank and admit that I haven’t read the translated version of “Oxygen.” So, I went into this show with zero expectations and returned with a huge smile on my face. I haven’t stopped smiling yet. The Pilot episode was sprinkled with adorable moments and lots of sweetness. Stocked with a fairly new star cast, the storyline would have fallen flat if it wasn’t for the right amount of affable chemistry between the three couples portrayed with an honesty that makes them so humane and relatable. It might be the “heart-stopping” first meeting of Gui and Solo or Kao’s sudden “Love Confession” to Phuri!

This review is a joint effort with Jenhg. See her thoughts on this episode at her blog. I’m sure you love reading her thought’s as much as I did.

Roommate the Series รูมเมทเดอะซีรีส์ | Episode 4 & Special [Review]

On August 16th, when the trailer for Episode 4 was released on Twitter, the Roommate series team also shared a message to the fans because a lot of us were surprised and upset to see that this series had only four episodes. Thankfully, we got a special episode for this series this week, which in my opinion, was just “Episode 5” because it was the proper closure to this sweet story. But what’s in a name! I am sure most of the viewers are pleased with this show and the way it ended.

Roommate the Series รูมเมทเดอะซีรีส์ | Episode 3 [Review]

On August 16th, when the trailer for Episode 4 was released on Twitter, the Roommate Series team also pinned the message below for the fans because a lot of us were surprised and disappointed to see that this series only has four episodes –

Dear Fans:

The “Roommate the Series • This room is for only you” is a small project that all of us wanted to create as a Boys Love series. All of us, the staff, and the actors worked together to think and create this series for ourselves.  [We] do not have the budget. There are not any sponsors.  Everything we do [was done] by ourselves. And [we] just want to make a great short-series on our channel, so we [could] only do four episodes. Thank you for all [of] your support. Every criticism and compliment, every encouragement, and everyone who loves and supports our series. That [is] beyond our expectations. If there is an opportunity, [and] Double M Studio and “Roommate the Series • This room is for only you” get support from a sponsor, we hope we’ll be able to create works that will come out for everyone to see in the future and we will make it even better.

Sincerely

Double M Studio

Episode 7 [Review]

Episode 6 saw Soda shipping herself with P’Kim. Khet realizes he likes P’Kim even though they are brothers. P’Way even dumped his girlfriend so he could pursue his love for P’Kim. All of this because Pan is still in P’Kim’s body. Determined to fix this mess by getting her body back, KimPan goes to her body. However, KimPan is confronted by Soda, who acts on her misguided feelings for P’Kim and tries for a kiss. This is KimPan’s breaking point, and they shout their truth. Soda freezes as the Angel of Death descends with her scythe toward KimPan’s throat. And now The Shipper finally moves into a new story arc, but does it sink or will it swim?

Episode 6 [Review]

At the end of Episode 5, we see Soda thanking God for showing her that her true love is P’Kim. Or Pan in P’Kim’s body and despite everything that happened in Episode 5, like KimPan telling Soda that Pan is right in front of her. She still doesn’t realize Pan is in P’Kim’s body. KimPan’s super loud “Errrrr” rings through the church as she drags our Angel of Death away somehow is also missed. Let’s leave logic here and start the review.

Episode 5 [Review]

Episode 4 found Pan realizing first impressions are not always accurate.  Finally, she learns that you can’t judge a boy off how he looks, no matter how cute. In Episode 5, we see what she does with this information; however, remember this is Pan, so of course, you won’t be able to predict it.

Episode 4 [Review]

Episode 4 of “The Shipper” doesn’t have big shoes to fill as Episode 3 was a mess of perceptions of sexual and gender roles and lifestyles. While Episode 3 pushed shock value. Episode 4 takes the gauntlet of a more serious show and carries it well. Here is my review of episode 4.

Episode 3 [Review]

Every BL show has that episode where we see what we think is going on and what is really happening. Most shows do it midseason, but “The Shipper” does its game-changer early on in 3 and 4. In Episode 2, we see KimPan make the declaration she is going to make her ship sail naively, so when the body switch is undone, Kim and Way will be together. Anyone with common sense can see the flaw in that logic, but as a selfish 16-year-old girl with no sense of consideration for other people, Pan doesn’t. What could go wrong? Let’s find out in Episode 3.

Episode 2 [Review]

The second episode of “The Shipper” GMMtv’s Friday BL series is back with the show right after Pan wakes up in the body of P’Kim. Queue massive amounts of insanity and funny, awkward moments as Episode 2 does what few BL’s do today by telling you about each character instead of showing it. Whether that’s a good or bad thing remains to be seen.

Jeff Satur and Gameplay Garnphapon’s adorable romance in Ingredients is stealing everyone’s heart. While their sensual chemistry in HeSheIt was much appreciated, this gourmet love saga is miles apart, yet enviable. Top & Marwin’s loving gazes and shy expressions make your heart flutter, and you wish they would get together.

Jeff Satur and Gameplay Garnphapon had sensual chemistry in Warper TV’s mini-series He She It that set our screens on fire. However, their romance in Central Food TV’s new mini-series Ingredients is even more enviable. Ingredients is a BL themed romantic comedy that showcases the love of gourmet food, featuring our main leads Tops & Marwin.
