Stage Of Love The Series – Giai đoạn của tình yêu: bộ – Episode 8 [Review]

Love always finds its way back to you. All you need is a little patience and an entire army of supportive friends

Nguyen certainly won on this account. His perseverance and patience pay off as our adorable couple finally confesses their love for one another in the finale episode. Although I’m a little sad that the show ended so soon and we won’t be getting to watch this odd motley of drama enthusiasts anymore, Stage of Love was invariably a good effort by the production team. The storyline might have some potholes, but that didn’t take away the essence, which spells “Love is beyond gender, caste or creed.”

Strength and Conviction – A Woman’s Hold in the Boys Love World

I am a strong woman. I don’t sit around feeling sorry for myself, nor do I let people mistreat me. If I fall, I will rise up even stronger because I am a survivor and not a victim

Gone are the days when the BL world was stuck portraying women in obsolete YAOI tropes characterized by female characters as villainous ex-girlfriends or homophobic mothers terrorizing BL couples. Today’s social scene is being flooded with new-age Boys Love series and sitcoms that are marching beyond tales of the typical teenage romance; we have a new revolution sprouting and taking root. Many production houses are now representing the community of women in a far better light, so much so that these women even have prominent roles. In this new world of BL, we have more accepting female characters. They aren’t regressive, but they are strong. These women have convictions where they definitely stand up to obsolete societal norms. They are happy souls who accept that the men in their lives have “the right to love and that gender doesn’t matter.” Let’s get to know them better and celebrate their defiance.

Stage Of Love The Series – Giai đoạn của tình yêu: bộ – Episode 7 [Review]

“The Friendly Guy Next Door is NOT SO Friendly”

These were my exact thoughts while watching the current episode. Shocking revelations tumbled out of the basket, and we finally learn the truth behind Duc’s injury. His disposition as a sweet innocent guy is far from his evil thoughts. Duc seems to stick to the adage “Everything is fair in love and war.” The only setback is that he targeted the wrong person last time. Duc has finally figured out who the true object of affection is, and I’m actually afraid of thinking of the consequences.

Stage Of Love The Series – Giai đoạn của tình yêu: bộ – Episode 6 [Review]

Bao becomes a victim of homophobia as Nguyen’s confession video goes viral. Nguyen decides to be the sacrificial lamb and cut off ties with Bao. This episode was a downward slope, and Khanh’s mature demeanor was the only saving grace. I wonder why people love to redirect their misperceptions and vendetta on innocents who do not deserve that kind of hatred. Let’s review Episode 6 and see how it fared.

Stage Of Love The Series – Giai đoạn của tình yêu: bộ – Episode 5 [Review]

This episode, we have an utterly confused Nguyen, who is slowly coming to terms with his own feelings for Bao. The premise is hilarious at first, he stumbles upon major revelations and finally accepts the truth. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him rediscover his passion for theater as well as self analyze himself. I’m pretty excited, so let’s review Episode 5.

Stage Of Love The Series – Giai đoạn của tình yêu: bộ – Episode 4 [Review]

FINALLY!!! Both the audiences and Bao get to know the mystery behind “The Accident” that turned Nguyen into a recluse. It wasn’t unexpected, but surely it explains his recurrent nightmares. Since Nguyen’s side of the storyline is now clearly spelled out, the show will probably focus on their mechanics of love. Without much further ado, let’s review the latest episode.

We still haven’t devolved into the mystery of the “Accident,” but at least Nguyen’s stubbornness is finally wearing off. Let’s dive in and review Episode 3.
