Pavel Naret Promphaopun (นเรศพร้อมเผ่าพันธ์) was born on May 6th, 1997) is a Thai actor, model, clothing designer, biker, gym enthusiast, and more. When I received this assignment, I was a little star-struck. How do you write the character profile of someone like Pavel. He is not just a person. Pavel Phoom is a PHENOMENON.

Spotlight on Thai new wave filmmaker Aam Anusorn (2nd full-length interview) Part 1/2

The BL universe has started to evolve. Like the frenzied craziness common with the rise of a popular niche, the Thai BL scene has become both popular and unfortunately, toxic. One personality who is the subject of admiration and denial is acclaimed filmmaker Aam Anusorn.

2 Moons 2 เดือนเกี้ยวเดือน 2: Anticipating Episode 5 and the start of the “real deal”!

The first 4 episodes of 2 Moons 2: The series has already exceeded my expectations. Someone said I was desperate to promote the new drama when there is not enough ‘clout’ to influence the fans yet.

I disagree with the apparently biased opinion by saying this: The drama by acclaimed filmmaker Anusorn – even without the new materials – is already far superior to the previous season.  Continue reading “2 Moons 2 เดือนเกี้ยวเดือน 2: Anticipating Episode 5 and the start of the “real deal”!”

2 Moons 2 เดือนเกี้ยวเดือน 2: Episode 1 and 2 [Review]

Experience taught us that when we see something special, we know it immediately. That’s my initial reaction to Episode 1 of 2 Moons 2 during its first 15 minutes (excluding the cast intro).

I have seen and heard them previously – the initial conflict between Phana and Wayo, the show of ‘reverence’ towards Wayo who is – after all – a very rich kid, the selection of the Moons, how the student body reacts when Phana appears. While there are 3 BL couples, Episode 1 concentrates on Wayo and Phana. [with Ming, played by Joong Archen as scene-stealer.] Continue reading “2 Moons 2 เดือนเกี้ยวเดือน 2: Episode 1 and 2 [Review]”

Director Aam Anusorn Soisa ngim has made quite an impression as he spearheads the rise (and further rise) of Thai BL series by directing 2Moons2, a show that rivals the best of BL shows for 2019 and earlier. The new series is now being anticipated for fresh materials come Episode 5.

Updates: Episode 1 & 2 review | Episode 3 & 4 review | Episode 5 | Full review Part 1– Acting| Full review Part 2– Directing & technical

BL Couple on Spotlight: Ming-Kit [2 Moons 2 The Series]

One of the most fascinating Thai BL drama, is without a doubt, 2 Moons: The Series. While many prefer the first couple Phana-Wayo, I’m quite interested in the story and character development of Ming and Kit.

Season One and its ‘original’ cast may have been relegated into the background with the introduction of a new cast, but both actors who play Ming and Kit are much appreciated! Continue reading “BL Couple on Spotlight: Ming-Kit [2 Moons 2 The Series]”

Anusorn Soisa-ngim talks about Present Perfect, 2 Moons 2 The Series, actors and more!

The film Present Perfect by Anusorn Soisa-ngim feels both Thai and ‘not Thai’ to me. Being so used to Japanese movies where silence and slow pacing are the norms, I thought I was seeing an indie Japanese film!

About a week ago, it was announced that Soisa-ngim will take charge of the 2 Moons 2 The Series. Apart from the international success of his films, it is now obvious that the Thai filmmaker has entered a new field – TV series, as director. With his name thrown into the spotlight, he gets to decide the next trends in Thai BL.
