“With Me” The title of the third episode of Chasing Sunsets the Series resembles Lara’s invitation to Farrah to be part of her ‘chaotic’ life. For Farrah herself, the answer to that invitation was given long before she learned the truth about Lara. Since the day that their eyes met, Farrah has known that she would fall deeply for the girl with the broken smile. So when Lara asks her to be by her side, Farrah gladly accepts. However, life often gets way too complicated for both of them.Continue reading “Chasing Sunsets The Series – Episode 3 | A GL Series [Review]”
Beginning with the words on how the episode is a tribute to the unique and theatrical American musician Lady Gaga, anyone surprised its a musical needs to enjoy it with headphones. After the opening episode, “Touch – Move” had our main characters Christian and Zach cuddling together for warmth. It’s a surprise to see them now facing off against each other in a musical production about breastfeeding. Why? ‘Cause it’s Sakristan. That’s why!Continue reading “Sakristan (Altar Boy) – Episode 2 [Review]”
Those things we can’t find closure on, they will haunt us. I think that phrase best described the journey of Mark in Truly Very Yours, a new Pinoy BL series that aims to bring more colors into the emerging BL industry in the Philippines. Surrounded by tough competition, such as Gameboys the Series, Hello Stranger, and Sakristan, Truly Very Yours hopes to attract viewers’ attention by offering a simple love story that is close to their daily lives. Although it seems promising, I can’t stop myself but ask, will it be enough to make it memorable?
Well, let’s find out!Continue reading “Truly Very Yours Review (Episodes 1-5) [Review]”
The first episode of Chasing Sunsets the Series left viewers with unsolved mysteries, especially about Dominic. Whether he is real or merely a figment of Lara’s imagination is a question that has been bugging viewers for days, and they hope to find the answer in the following episode. On the other hand, Farrah is more determined to get closer to Lara by offering her sincere friendship. The latter is interested but seems hesitant as she might not be ready to open up to anyone.Continue reading “Chasing Sunsets The Series – Episode 2 | A GL Series [Review]”
Pearl’s (Adrianna So) new addition to the story gave the series a new dimension that the representation of women in BL series who are or were attached to one of the protagonists can be portrayed as supportive and healthy. Her character appeared to pose a threat to the budding romantic attraction between Cairo (Elijah Canlas) and Gavreel (Kokoy de Santos), but Episode 3 cleared the air and instantly transformed her into the major shipper we all love today. Pearl was later given the title “Pambansang Shipper” or the national shipper of BL tandems in the Philippines.Continue reading “Gameboys The Series – Episode 4 [Review]”

We should remain truthful and honest, but at the same time, we must be cautious not to result in the stigma about mental disorders. Because love accepts us with no conditions. In love, all of us are equal.” – Lara from Chasing Sunsets the Series
The previous episode of Gameboys left us with an anxiety-inducing cliffhanger and utter confusion. Cairo (Elijah Canlas) was astonished when his Messenger call for Gavreel (Kokoy de Santos) was answered by someone other than Gav. Not only did Gav not answer the call, the one who did was a beautiful young girl, who even yells “Babe!” to get Gav to the call, much to Cairo’s immediate dismay and chagrin.Continue reading “Gameboys The Series – Episode 3 [Review]”
Episode 2 comes after a revealing premier episode that saw BL watchers getting acquainted with this uniquely produced BL series. BL fans who complain about the ‘random’ announcement of episode changes should bear in mind that the restrictions in Manila have kept the production crew walking a fine line. Kudos to IdeaFirst Productions for finding the best way to shoot, edit, upload, and promote the series.Continue reading “Gameboys The Series – Episode 2 [Review]”
Maligned even before it was shown, Sakristan’s premiere started with a big bang! Like a GMM-tv BL premiere, the chats are populated with eager and excited fans. In the case of Sakristan, there is already an assumption of defiance and notoriety. The opening credit baits conservative viewers to have an open mind. On the other hand, it offers a comedic ‘remark’ to a captured audience that is waiting with bated breath.Continue reading “Sakristan (Altar Boy) – Episode 1 [Review]”
Gameboys The Series follows the carefree lives of two young Filipino gamers Cai (Elijah Canlas) and Gav (Kokoy de Santos). The boys become ‘acquainted’ after competing in an online game where the relatively unknown Gav won a over much-touted Cai. In the Philippines, young boys such as our main characters compete as a team or as individual players in such games as DOTA or Mobile Legends. Some Filipino gamers have won huge prizes in recent international tournaments.
