The days when Boys Love is dominated by Thai and Japanese dramas with worldwide reach are waning. The Philippines is the new entrant to the BL world that “celebrates love in this purest form, beyond the shackles of simple gender or sexuality.” The success of popular Thai series like “TharnType the Series” and “2gether the Series” might have set a precedent, but the fact remains that the Boys Love dimension is witnessing the onset of a major revolution in the form of Pinoy BL. Although Pinoy Boys Love hasn’t yet quite reached the international territory that Thai BL creators enjoy or brought forth the same sensual intimacy they display, Pinoy BL is fast becoming a contender and a global phenomenon in this genre.Continue reading “Special Feature: Different Flavors of Pinoy Love [Opinion]”
There’s a fine line between the Method Actor and the Schizophrenic – Nicholas Cage
Can a person get caught into a web of his own emotions? Can an actor get so lost in his character, that his own feelings become supplanted by the role he portrays? These were the questions in my mind as I watched this thrilling yet dangerous love story unfold between the two strong yet stubborn main characters. Method is an emotional journey that betrays the forbidden romance between the experienced actor Jae Ha and flippant yet reluctant idol Young Woo.
Director Pang Eun-Jin has effortlessly created a universe where these two characters converge, and their emotional attachment leads to disastrous consequences. Park Sung-Woong’s Jae Ha draws on your attention while Yoon Seung-Ah’s Young Woo leaves you deeply wounded. Two totally different personalities who unknowingly get entwined in each other’s lives.
A romantic comedy series about a young, determined culinary intern named Sky making his way into a multi-billion-dollar food company. Find out how he survived the challenges and wins the heart of his wicked boss, Ace.

He loved this difficult, strange man of subtle whims and irascible tempers, this quiet creature who tried to be a statue of graven stone but was instead all steel and sharp edges, and every time Summer’s heart bled with the cuts it only filled that much deeper with the slow-growing love he hadn’t even realized was creeping up on him with every day, every kiss that made him hope more and more that Fox could ever…Could ever feel something for him
Cole McCade is one of my favorite authors, and I always wait with bated breath for the next release of his ongoing thriller series “Criminal Intentions.” So when I realized that he had recently started off with another book series, I knew that I had to read the book. I was equal parts excited and anxious. I was excited because McCade had a new series out and anxious because I wasn’t sure if it would be as good as Criminal Intentions is. After weeks of putting off, I finally decided to read this book, and McCade certainly blew my mind.Continue reading “Just Like That (Albin Academy #1) by Cole McCade”

Love always finds its way back to you. All you need is a little patience and an entire army of supportive friends
Nguyen certainly won on this account. His perseverance and patience pay off as our adorable couple finally confesses their love for one another in the finale episode. Although I’m a little sad that the show ended so soon and we won’t be getting to watch this odd motley of drama enthusiasts anymore, Stage of Love was invariably a good effort by the production team. The storyline might have some potholes, but that didn’t take away the essence, which spells “Love is beyond gender, caste or creed.”Continue reading “Stage Of Love The Series – Giai đoạn của tình yêu: bộ – Episode 8 [Review]”

Our Happiness shouldn’t be based on how people perceive us, but on how we truly see ourselves
The truth hurts and is inexplicable at times. But the fact remains that facing the truth and accepting it requires courage. I’m so angry and disappointed by the turn of events in the current episode. Xavier may be confused, but I don’t think that after Mico’s dismissal that dragging Crystal into the mess is going to help solve his problems. Mico himself needs to stop playing the agony child and be clear about his feelings. The struggle between their real emotions as well their inability to admit them is becoming too tiring for the viewers, this viewer anyway. Let’s review and figure out how things why these two knuckleheads are being so intractable!Continue reading “Hello Stranger Episode 7 [Review]”
At the end of Episode 6, we saw Terrance plead Gav to return to him. When nothing else works, he puts Cai on the spot by asking if he even likes Gav. Though Gav had earlier mentioned that they are not in a hurry for being a couple, he does look expectantly at Cai.Continue reading “Gameboys The Series – Episode 7 [Review]”
Beloved Enemy is fast becoming a psychological challenge for me. The way the story is progressing, it’s giving me chills as well as making me nervous. Yuan Yang is still his unpredictable self, and Gu Qing Pei seems to have given up on the pretense of trying to tame him. I’m astounded at how these two opposing forces can co-exist in the same space. Yuan Yang, in the drama series, isn’t much different from the novel version in terms of his temperament. The drama adaptation is a highly diluted version of the original text and leaves a lot to be desired. Let’s review the next episodes and figure out their unusual dynamics.Continue reading “Beloved Enemy 决对争锋 (Episodes 7 – 9) [Review]”
The second season of “The Moment,” starring Thanapon Aiemkumchai and Bank Thanatip premiered on August 1st, 2020, to high anticipation. Bank and Thanapon reprise their roles of Dr. Mok and bartender Bay, along with Jet Jetsadakorn Bundit, who plays Bay’s boss Boston. This season, however, we have a new character in their midst, bringing turmoil to Mok and Bay’s perfect love story. TharnType star AA Pattarabut Kiennukul plays the flirtatious eye candy, Jimmy. Will Mok’s possessive nature stand the test of time, or will they fall apart? Let’s review the first two episodes and get to know them better.Continue reading “The Moment Since ที่ทำให้หัวใจเต้นแรง (Episodes 1 and 2 [Review]”
An Unabashedly “Feel Good” Love Story?
Do you know the secret behind every Fairy tale? Cinderella? Aurora? Or Snow White? None of them were perfect from the beginning. Each of them had to face struggles to meet their Prince Charming. If they didn’t face turmoil from the beginning, there wouldn’t be a storyline, right? Anyone who is imperfect and has the inner strength to work past those imperfections deserves a “Happily Ever After.”

They Say If You Dream A Thing More Than Once, It’s Sure To Become True
Kary’s curiosity gets her into major trouble with Hao Ran. As shocking truths stumble out of the bag, Amy and Hao Ran are faced with the important decision of revealing the truth to their mother. The finale episodes neatly tied up loose ends and resolved major issues that teenagers face when they are going through the “Coming Out” phase. It’s difficult and confusing, but it’s necessary. I am a strong woman. I don’t sit around feeling sorry for myself, nor do I let people mistreat me. If I fall, I will rise up even stronger because I am a survivor and not a victim
Gone are the days when the BL world was stuck portraying women in obsolete YAOI tropes characterized by female characters as villainous ex-girlfriends or homophobic mothers terrorizing BL couples. Today’s social scene is being flooded with new-age Boys Love series and sitcoms that are marching beyond tales of the typical teenage romance; we have a new revolution sprouting and taking root. Many production houses are now representing the community of women in a far better light, so much so that these women even have prominent roles. In this new world of BL, we have more accepting female characters. They aren’t regressive, but they are strong. These women have convictions where they definitely stand up to obsolete societal norms. They are happy souls who accept that the men in their lives have “the right to love and that gender doesn’t matter.” Let’s get to know them better and celebrate their defiance.Continue reading “Strength and Conviction – A Woman’s Hold in the Boys Love World”
“Caring” is a two-way street. If only one party keeps receiving and doesn’t give back, then the relationship would surely get weary sooner than later. Marwin has always been on the receiving end of the care extended by Tops. So, what happens when the tables turn and Tops is the one in need of TLC? Will Marwin live up to the challenge? Episodes 7 and 8 highlighted a different side of Tops and Marwin’s relationship, which was invariably pleasant and a total surprise to Mike, Marwin’s friend.
